A 19th century oil painting on board by William Howard Hardy (British, 19th century) depicting a red coated rider and his reluctant horse stopped in their tracks by a pond. A very charming piece. Signed lower left. In an antique gilt wood frame with linen liner. Artwork in frame measures 9.5" x 12.5". Artwork is in overall very good condition with age-typical surface dirt. The frame is also in overall good condition with light scratches, and age-typical discoloration to the liner.
