Vintage 48 star American flag mounted on neutral tweedy fabric with a very subtle herringbone pattern. The 48 star flag was in use from July 4, 1912 - July 3, 1959. Flag in deep 19th century carved wood frame with gilded liner measures 13.5" x 15.5", and is under glass. Flag has great patina. Frame in very good, antique condition with light wear.
