Scott Moore was raised in the Washington, DC area in a family of artists, a background that set the foundation for his lifelong commitment to painting. He earned his BFA in Painting from the Maine College of Art and has spent the past forty years living and working along the Maine coast. Over the course of his career, Moore has served as a consulting artist for Maine’s Percent for Art program, taught at the Farnsworth Museum, led workshops—including Maine Women in the Arts at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts—and curated the exhibition “Four Maine Painters” for the Maine Audubon Gallery.
He makes his home in a nineteenth-century farmhouse in Stockton Springs overlooking Penobscot Bay, where he lives with his wife and daughter. Moore’s paintings can be found in private and corporate collections across the country and abroad.
