Scott Cameron is a Delaware-based artist celebrated for his luminous oil paintings of America's Cup yachts, historic steamboats, tranquil coastal marshes, and timeless American landscapes. His work evokes a sense of nostalgia, capturing both the beauty of the natural world and the enduring elegance of maritime history.

Inspired by Andrew Wyeth and the Brandywine School of painters, Cameron combines meticulous realism with a quiet, atmospheric quality. His paintings are distinguished by their soft, glowing light and peaceful mood, while his dynamic America’s Cup scenes freeze dramatic moments on the water, allowing wind-filled sails and graceful compositions to take center stage.

A dedicated historian as well as painter, Cameron conducts extensive research for every historic steamboat and racing yacht he depicts, ensuring remarkable accuracy in rigging, boat design, and race conditions. His favorite subjects are drawn from the waterways of Martha’s Vineyard, Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and the rolling countryside of Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland.

Cameron studied at Southampton College under Fairfield Porter and Willem de Kooning before continuing his education at Pratt Institute in New York. He later worked as a graphic designer in Newport, Rhode Island, where he created graphics for the America’s Cup yachts Courageous, Clipper, and Defender. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for marine art and inspired him to combine his background in design with his love of painting.

His work has been exhibited in numerous regional and national exhibitions, including the Mystic Seaport Museum, as well as leading galleries throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
