Midge Stires (American, b. 1943) finely executed acrylic on canvas laid to wood panel Hamptons seascape depicting a cedar shake Cape Cod style home overlooking the Hamptons. Signed lower right. Midge Stires was born in New Jersey and received her B.A. in Fine Arts from Syracuse University. She is a prize recipient from National Academy Design, New York City, in 1978, and won the Best of Show award at the Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, New York, in 1977. She is married to fellow artist, Peter Schnore. Artwork in custom gold beaded frame measures 11.5" x 21.25". Artwork in very good condition with light wear including a few light abrasions.
