Midge Stires (American, b. 1943) finely executed acrylic on canvas laid to wood panel Hamptons seascape titled Dunes on Napeague Bay (Montauk, Long Island). Signed lower left. Midge Stires was born in New Jersey and received her B.A. in Fine Arts from Syracuse University. She is a prize recipient from National Academy Design, New York City, in 1978, and won the Best of Show award at the Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, New York, in 1977. She is married to fellow artist, Peter Schnore. Artwork in custom gold beaded frame measures 10" x 16.5". Artwork in very good condition with light wear including a few light abrasions.
