Midge Stires (American, b. 1943) finely executed acrylic on canvas laid to wood panel Hamptons sunset seascape titled August Sunset. Signed lower right. Midge Stires was born in New Jersey and received her B.A. in Fine Arts from Syracuse University. She is a prize recipient from National Academy Design, New York City, in 1978, and won the Best of Show award at the Parrish Art Museum, Southampton, New York, in 1977. She is married to fellow artist, Peter Schnore. Artwork in thick, gold, solid wood frame measures 14.75" x 17". Artwork and frame in very good condition with very light wear.
