Striking oil on canvas seascape painting of an impending storm rolling over the coast by Larry Dodd Wheeler (American, b. 1942). Masterfully painted. Signed lower left. The painting measures 30” x 36” in frame, and 24” x 30” for the art alone. Both painting and frame are in very condition.
Wheeler has served as the painting conservator for both the Corcoran Gallery and the Smithsonian Institution in addition to teaching at the Maryland Institute. His skilled work is in great demand and hangs in the Supreme Court Building and the Federal Building in Washington D.C. as well as in many private collections.
