Harald Julius Niels Pryn (Danish, 1891-1968) early 20th century oil painting on canvas of a beautifully illuminated seascape as seen from the edge of a rocky beach. Signed lower right. Artwork in detailed gold wood frame measures 18.25" x 24.25". Artwork in very good, age appropriate condition with light wear including all-over light craquelure. Frame also in good, age appropriate condition with general light wear.
A member of the Danish School, Pryn lived in Bagsvaerd, near Copenhagen, where he earned a reputation as a landscapist and engraver.
A self-taught artist, he would eventually be considered one of the best landscape artists of his time. Pryn's artwork is found internationally and is noted in Danish Museums, including the Museum of Art Rudersdal in Holte, Denmark.
