Gretchen McGinnis, a graduate of the Tyler School of Art at Temple University and award-winning artist based in Chester County, Pennsylvania, creates luminous still life compositions that transform flowers, vintage ceramics, vases, and collected figurines into intimate worlds rich with color, emotion, and atmosphere. McGinnis describes each painting as a "love letter to life."

Rooted in close observation and a deep sensitivity to color and form, McGinnis’s paintings balance lush beauty with emotional honesty. Her work explores both chaos and quiet, capturing the fleeting, tender weight of ordinary moments through expressive brushwork and richly layered paint. Romantic, sensual, joyful, and at times touched by melancholy, each painting becomes a reflection on the fragile enormity of being alive.

For McGinnis, painting is both devotion and connection - a way of remaining attentive to the beauty of the world and expressing gratitude for the ability to see it at all. In addition to her studio practice, she is a middle school art teacher and mother of three daughters, experiences that continue to shape her creative life and visual language.
