Emil Gottfrid Days (Swedish, 1890-1966) peaceful cove seascape oil painting on board. Signed and dated 1938 at lower left. Artwork in lightly gilded carved wood frame measures 15" x 19". Artwork and frame in good, age appropriate condition with scattered light wear as shown in photos.

He was the son of the boatbuilder Hans Johan Håkansson. Håkansson studied with Nils Asplund in 1911-1912 and at Althins painting school in 1916-1917 and at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Stockholm in 1917-1918 and during a study trip to Munich in 1922. He exhibited separately on several occasions in Karlskrona and he participated in the Swedish General Art Association's exhibitions in 1930-1939 and in the Anniversary Exhibition in Karlskrona in 1930. Among his public works are the mural paintings in Karlskrona vocational school and Saltö folk school in Karlskrona. His art consists of still lifes , portraits and landscape paintings in oil, watercolor and tempera. Hakansson is represented at the Swedish National Art Council .
