Edmund Jordan (American / Pennsylvania, 20th century) colorful impressionist oil painting on board of Monhegan Island, Maine. A vibrant village of cedar shake buildings surrounded by sailboats and fishing boats cruising its coast in the waters of the Atlantic, Manana Island just off its shore. Signed lower right. Dated 2000. Jordan was a master of light and water, as is evident in this piece. Jordan favored the East Coast, painting from Cape May, NJ up through Cape Cod and the shores of Maine. His love for and familiarity with these quiet coastal locales gives his work a tranquil, easy feeling. Artwork in plein air gold solid wood frame measures 29.75" x 35.5".
