Earl Mayan (American, 1916-2009) vibrant oil painting on artist panel of the California coastline featuring a dramatic green cliff that juts out into turquoise waters. The foreground displays sandy shores curving gently along the base of the cliffs, with waves softly washing onto the beach below. Titled The Pacific. Signed lower left. Artwork in contemporary gold wood frame measures 29.75" x 36". Both the frame and painting are in excellent condition
Earl Mayan was an American illustrator whose early career spanned the era of pulp magazines to the post World War II years alongside Norman Rockwell at The Saturday Evening Post. From 1954 to 1961, he painted ten Saturday Evening Post covers and illustrated many of the stories that appeared as inside the magazine.
