Charles Gordon Harris (American / Rhode Island, 1891-1963) finely done oil on board titled Looking Over the Sakonnet River (runs between Mount Hope Bay and Rhode Island Sound). A luminous landscape with light streaking down from between the cloud line. Signed lower right. Artwork in painted sage green wood frame measures 16.75" x 18.75". Artwork and frame in very good condition with light, age appropriate wear. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Charles Gordon Harris studied painting at the Rhode Island School of Design and with teachers Herbert Cyrus Farnum, Stacey Tolman and G. A. Hayes. He was a member of the Providence Art Club, the Providence Water Color Club and the South County (Rhode Island) Art Association.
