1920s-30s oil painting on canvas by Axel Johansen (Danish, 1878-1938) of a luminous moment under the canopy of a forest. Johansen was considered to be one of the foremost Danish painters of his generation and exhibited regularly at the Danish equivalent of the Royal Academy. He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Artwork in vintage, deep gold wood frame measures 21.75" x 29.25".
