A finely done 19th century oil painting on canvas still life of fruit, red and yellow apples, sitting on a blue and red patterned china plate. Dated 1880. Signed lower left and on the back "C. J. Metcalf 1880". This piece comes from the notable collection of Dr. Melvyn & Bette Wolf of Flint, Michigan. Artwork in its original lemon gold frame measures 14" x 16". Artwork is in very good age appropriate condition. Original, 19th century lemon gilt frame is in perfectly-imperfect condition - with light allover wear, but in beautiful, displayable condition.
