1925 watercolor on paper by Philadelphia artist Raphael Sabatini (American, 1898-1985). A fantastical depiction of the sun rising over a rainbow colored kingdom. An inscription in the lower right reads "To Ida in memory of our friendship ("Rafe") Sabatini". Dated 4/07/1925 in lower left. Sabatini was a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and studied with Arthur B. Carles, Fernand Leger, Antoine Bourdelle & Constantin Brancusi. Artwork in frame measures 9.5" x 19.25". Overall good condition for its age with some foxing at edges. Original blue wood frame with gold detailing. Under glass.
