She studied at the Boston Museum School of Fine Arts under Edmund Tarbell and Frank Weston Benson, and later at the Art Students League of New York with Kenyon Cox and George Randolph Barse. Nosworthy was a member of the Copley Society and the Southern Fine Arts Association, and her work was exhibited at the Salons of America in 1934. In addition to her painting, she was a prolific illustrator, contributing to books such as Great Musicians, Miss Theodora, the Bunny Brown and Tommy Tinker series, Betty of Wye, and Land of Play (1911), as well as creating covers for women’s and children’s magazines, calendars, and postcards.
